Law applies to all : British police fine Nawaz Sharif for wrong parking

LONDON – No one is above the law here as was happened with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif when he got traffic ticket for wrong parking in front of his apartment in London. Sharif, who used to move in a motorcade through a guarded route closed for commons in Pakistan even after disqualification, is in London to tend his ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz suffering from lymph nodes. He has also reportedly been suggested rest on deteriorated health condition by the doctors. The British police fined the Pakistan’s former premier after he did not follow the prescribed rules while parking his vehicle, Mercedes-Benz, outside his flat in city of Westminster. As per the details, the vehicle is owned by the Sharif family and in personal use of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif. The local police displayed the traffic challan at wind screen of the vehicle imposing a fine of 65 pounds. The police have given 14 days deadline to submit the money otherwise it will be increased to double. Sharif is staying at the apartments in Mayfair regarding which cases are being heard in Pakistani courts.
