Causalities feared as gunmen attack TV station in Afghanistan

KABUL – At least one person was killed and three injured so far on Tuesday after unknown gunmen stormed a private television station in Kabul, Afghanistan, while gunbattle is underway.

According to Afghan media, the attack started at about 10:45 am today morning after a suicide bomber reportedly exploded himself.

After the blast, two to three gunmen broke into the office of Shamshad TV, a Pashto language channel. A number of staff members are present inside the compound.

The broadcasting operation has stopped as the channel is showing only a still image.

The security forces and rescue teams have reached the spot, while the area has been cordoned off.

Media reports suggest further causalities are feared in the ongoing attack.

However, Taliban has denied the attack.
