DUBAI – Indian actor and comedy king Kapil Sharma hosted the PSL’s team Peshawar Zalmi’s night in Dubai upon Javed Afridi’s request. However, it seems like this act did not go down too well with with Indians as Kapil soon came under fire from Indian extremist group Shiv Sena for hosting the event.
According to an Indian tabloid, Shiv Sena said, “Kapil Sharma is making a mockery of India’s honour. He just wants to earn money and doesn’t care about the country.”
Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has also slammed Kapil Sharma: “He (Kapil) should be ashamed of himself. Pakistani cricketers are banned in IPL but he went there to perform.”
Moreover, Indian public has not been too kind to the actor either, with posts of distaste flooding the social media, starting with an Indian journalist, outright calling Kapil ‘desperate’.
