Sridevi posthumously honoured with Film Icon Award at Cannes 2018

CANNES: Late veteran actress Sridevi has been posthumously honoured by the 71st Cannes Film Festival. The actress was honoured with the TITAN Reginald F Lewis Film Icon Award which honours women in film industries from around the world.

The award was received by film-maker Subhash Ghai, who stated that he felt honoured to have done so on behalf of the late Sridevi.

On Twitter, the film maker shared photographs of himself receiving the award and wrote, “It was honour to receive the award on behalf of legend Sridevi Kapoor at Cannes Film Festival yesterday for her outstanding contribution in Indian cinema and shared my experience with impeccable inimitable actor to western audience hosted by Titan Reginald F Lewis film honours.”

Her husband, Boney Kapoor was ecstatic on hearing Cannes decision, “I’m happy that people from the world over are recognizing her body of work and her contribution to cinema. Even though the overwhelming emptiness of losing her remains, it’s comforting to know that she lives on through her work.”
