LAHORE – Amidst former chaos, Patari has managed to submerge itself into another controversy. The latest is that the music platform clearly discriminates between the artists it hosts and looks forward to own gains. The music streaming site is under fire once again as evidence emerges of it’s willingness to push Faris Shafi’s new track back on Ali Zafar’s request. Pataris ‘new releases’ list showed Faris’s collaboration with Ali Sethi on top. However, then the following conversation took place and there was an agreement to change the placement of the track.
The track was moved to the end.
“We are dismayed by this blatant manipulation of a national musical platform. It forces us to reconsider working with Patari in the future.” said the artists, Faris and Ali Sethi. They seem shook and disappointed by the act.
Earlier in April, Patari’s co-founder Khalid Bajwa was accused of sexual misconduct. Multiple women came forward with claims of his inappropriate behaviour. Screenshots and details were provided of the consistent emotional discomfort he provided to women, which eventually led to Bajwa’s resignation.
One woman said: “I just want to say that he’s been doing this for years. Especially to young girls. Coercing them to meet, reminding them of his position of power and trying to entice with weird perks related to Patari and whatnot. I just want people to be safe from him.”
A few weeks later, six key members of the site have resigned due to Bajwa’s solid position as a decision maker even when he had apparently resigned.

Patari was seen hosting Ali Zafar’s songs from Teefa In Trouble, causing people to wonder about why it is supporting the culture of harassment as the Meesha-Ali case is still ongoing in court.
Back to the latest controversy, who knew they are not just playing Ali’s songs in fact they are dealing with other songs his way as well. Ali’s team has not yet responded to explain their position after the screenshot has been leaked. There is silence on that side since then.
