LAHORE – The Punjab Assembly election results are portraying Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz in a favorable light as the party has somewhat managed to outclass its rivals for the 11th General Elections.
According to the official but incomplete results provided by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the embattled PMLN is leading on 131 seats of the provincial assembly while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is leading on 122 seats.
Moreover, the independent candidates are dominating 31 seats as per the results of 53 percent of the polling stations.
On a nationwide scale, the party position is different as PTI is leading on 114 seats leaving behind PMLN which is racing to victory on 64 seats though the final results are yet to be announced.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected the allegations of rigging, with the Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan contending that the practice was 100 percent transparent.
