Bollywood no doubt is a misogynistic place where women are payed less, treated ill and have more working hours then men. However in a place like this Tanushree Dutta stood up and spoke for herself, she accused Nana Patekar (a veteran actor) of sexually assaulting her by misbehaving with her and dragging her to places.
This sure is the hot topic going on in Bollywood and unless you are living under a rock you’d know about it, social media is full of debates as celebrities join in to show their support for the actress. However during an interview Amitabh Bachan, ‘king of Bollywood’ was asked to comment on this situation what he said disappointed us terribly.
When questioned about the situation he replied “Neither my name is Tanushree not Nana Patekar, how can I answer your question.” Well to start off with everyone is standing up and giving their support to Tanushree for speaking up and if you don’t want to comment on it then you should be clear about it. It’s not about who you are or aren’t, you are an opinion leader FORM AN OPINION!
In the same interview Amir Khan took a better stance saying “I think without knowing the veracity of something or the details of something I don’t think I can comment on soemthing. It’s not right for me, I don’t need to comment on it but I would like to say if something like this does happen it’s a really sad thing. Now wether it has happen, this is for people to investigate, I don’t think we can comment on it.”
This interview took internet by storm and people have been put off by Bachan’s comment. Comedian Daniel Fernandes called him out and asked him to ‘grow a spine’
