ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, has said that the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China would further strengthen the historical relations with the all-weather and time-tested friend.
The minister expressed these remarks in a meeting with Ambassador of China, Yao Jing who called on him on Tuesday.
The visit would open new vistas for increased cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, socio-economic development, defence and cultural cooperation, he said in a press release.
Chaudhry said at the official and popular level, there was a strong resonance of long and rich history of cordial ties with China adding that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor would offer great opportunities in diverse fields not only to people of the two countries but the entire region and beyond.
The leadership of both the countries was committed to timely completion of all projects under CPEC, he affirmed.
The minister further emphasized the need for strengthening cultural ties with China as Pakistan with its diverse culture and multi-ethnic society offered vast opportunities of collaboration in the fields of art and culture.
‘In view of the signing of cultural agreements between China and Pakistan, they look for enhanced cultural ties and welcome Chinese expertise in the arena of film and entertainment industry,’ said the politician.
On the other hand, the Chinese ambassador said Beijing considered Pakistan a close friend and ally and was looking forward to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to China.
Premier Imran Khan would be heading to china on November 3, in his second foreign tour ever since he took charge of the office; he headed to Saudi Arabia in his first tour as the prime minister of the country.
