With their mouthwatering desserts, Peek Freans Cafe was a total hit at Coke Fest

Lahore isn’t called the culinary capital of Pakistan for nothing. Put together an event that combines food with music, the second favourite national pastime, and you can be sure that Lahoris will flock to it like the little children from Hamelin, who followed Pied Piper out of the town and into the cave. The crowds at the Coke Fest, therefore, were only to be expected.

The kids probably regretted following the Pied Piper, but we were ecstatic after seeing all the beautiful stalls and the variety of cuisine, and hearing that soothing music in the background. Just thinking about the wide range of flavours and delicacies that were being offered at the festival is making our mouth water, even after the event has been concluded.

From professional chefs to home-based chefs, everyone had a different taste to offer, catering to food lovers with diversified palates. But one particular stall that won our hearts was the one set up by Peek Feans Cafe. <3 There was something so amazing and nostalgic about the Exclusive Peak Freans Cafe that we couldn’t help but go to their stall. Peek Freans is one of the most talked about names when it comes to biscuits, their innovative taste and versatility making the brand almost synonymous with the term ‘MOST DELICIOUS BAKED GOODS’. (But then if English’s wouldn’t know how to bake, who would?) Their exclusive cafe at Coke Fest was absolute heaven for both kinds of people who like to indulge their sweet tooth and those who prefer their food salty. They served delectable canapes and cookie desserts using their high-quality products, promoting them as hors d’oeuvers and a one bite treat from heaven.

The cafe offered a variety of munchies which were not only delicious but were also economically priced too, allowing us to LITERALLY taste HAPPINESS. The modern and innovative desserts on offer included chocolicious Rocky Road, RIO Birthday shot, Jam Delight Cheese Cake, Butter Puff Caramel Pop, Butter Puff hors-d’oeuvres in a variety of flavours (Salsa, Chicken & Mushroom, Roasted Beet Hummus), and Cake Up Goodness. De Bon goût.

What amazed us was how Peek Freans came up with this unique concept of serving canapes and desserts that were light and easy to eat. The presentation was so beautiful that we were confused whether to gobble them up in one bite, or to savour them individually. The abundance of freshly baked and beautifully presented dishes made it difficult for people to choose what to eat FIRST from the myriad of desserts and savories.

We talked to our team and we weren’t at all surprised to hear that of us had a memory or two that included baked goods from Peek Freans while growing up. Memories of winter afternoons with family when we were kids, cups of hot tea and Peak Freans biscuits! PRICELESS.

Our experience at Peak Freans Exclusive Cafe wasn’t anything less than what we expected. The sheer joy of being with friends, the food of our childhood, soulful music, and the the nippy day is something we are going to remember for a long long time.

Lahore had a fun weekend, so did we. Thank you for the food festival and Peak Freans for letting us relive the memories from when we were growing and for letting us make new ones.

We hope that Peek Freans will come up with more delectable recipes and amazing concepts to surprise other cities too.
