ISLAMABAD – Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan clarified on Monday that his party would not file a petition seeking review of the Panama verdict.
Talking to newsmen outside Supreme Court, he criticized the ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and said workers of the party were celebrating after their leader was declared ‘corrupt’ by the apex court.
It bears mentioning that the cricketer-turned-politician arrived at the apex court for proceedings regarding a case related to illegal settlements and activities of land mafia in Bani Gala area for which the chief justice Mian Saqib Nisar had taken a suo-moto notice.
The five-member bench on Thursday announced the formation of a Joint Investigation team to probe the money trail of the Sharif family in the landmark Panama Leaks case verdict. Both PML-N and PTI had vowed not to seek a review of the verdict and to accept whatever the apex court decides in the case.
