PEMRA to hold training sessions with TV channels on code of conduct
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) is going to launch an interactive learning program named “Code of Conduct, A Collective Responsibility” with media houses and journalists from the second week of January 2017.

This was announced at a press brief by Chairman PEMRA, Absar Alam at PEMRA Headquarters in Islamabad on Friday.

The purpose of this initiative is to conduct an open discussion on Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015, to get feedback from the relevant stakeholders on improving the regulatory function of PEMRA and to bridge the gap between the regulatory authority and its relevant stakeholders.

The first session will be held in Islamabad with local TV channels’ newsroom and their staff. In the coming months, PEMRA team will go to all the 4 provinces for these interactive sessions on the Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015.

Chairman PEMRA further announced that in order to mark the launch of this new initiative, PEMRA has organised panel discussions on 9th January 2017 with some of the leading journalists and anchorpersons of Pakistan.

The panel discussions are namely “Media: Independent but Less Responsible? “Fake Images and Fake News: How Social Media is Affecting Journalism” and “Ratings vs Truth: Does Pakistani Electronic Media follow professional standards?” Civil society members, reporters, students are also invited to the event to share their concerns and to give their feedback on the effective implementation of Electronic Media Code of Conduct.-Online

Pakistani rupee rate against US Dollar, Euro, Pound, Riyal - Check 14 April forex rates

Pakistani currency remains unchanged against US dollar and other currencies in open market on April 14, 2024.

US Dollar rate in Pakistan

On Sunday, the US dollar was being quoted at 277.5 for buying and 280.5 for selling.

Euro was quoted at 299.95 for buying and 302.9 for selling while British Pound stands at 349.5 for buying, and 353 for selling.

UAE Dirham AED was at 75.45 and Saudi Riyal's new rates was at 73.30.
