Meet members of Pakistan’s first-ever National Youth Council

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday formally approved the launch of 33-member National Youth Council (NYC) for uplift of youth of the country.

At least 33 members have been included in the first ever youth council of Pakistan.

Here is the list of celebrities, who are part of the council:

Mahira Khan

Drama, movie star and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Mahira Khan is included in the 33-member council.

Muniba Mazari

Wheelchair-bound anchorperson and Pakistan’s ambassador for UN Women Muniba Mazari is a part of the council.

Hamza Ali Abbasi

Actor and anchorperson Hamza Ali Abbasi, who has bagged multiple awards, has been included in the council.

Zoe Viccaji

Musician with multiple awards, Zoe Viccaji will be a part of the council.

Marvia Malik

Pakistan’s first transgender newscaster Marvia Malik is also a member of the youth council.

National Youth Council

Besides them, prominent figures from various fields including, sports, religion, academia, and economics have been made a part of the council.

Major Tanveer Shafi, a Ghazi of Operation Zarb-e-Azb, has been appointed as the first member of the council.

Mountaineer Samina Baig, who climbed K-2, is also among the members of the council.

Cricketers Hassan Ali and Sana Mir are also appointed as the members of the council.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is the patron in chief of the council while Usman Dar will be the chairman.

The council is aimed at increasing the participation of youth in the country’s decision making and ensure active participation of young professionals in national development.
