PESHAWAR – The first woman driver of ride-hailing service, Careem, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) was shot dead by her husband, who tried to frame the murder as a burglary attempt, Peshawar police revealed on Monday.
Police found the body of the woman, identified as Nabila Amber, on Saturday night after she was killed by her second husband to whom she married five months ago.

During investigation, the police involved the deceased’s husband into investigation who later confessed to killing his wife. The officials also recovered the murder weapon.
The accused named Abdul Basit gave multiple reasons to kill his wife; however, police said that the real reason was that the accused did not approve of the victim’s male friends who visited their home frequently.
The investigation further revealed that the accused, who also has another wife, had given a house as Haq Mahr to his deceased wife and he wanted to get it back.
The alleged killer further claimed that the victim used to threaten him to tell his first wife about the marriage. Irked over her behaviour, the accused killed his wife.
