Trump’s foreign tour would include Pakistan: White House

WASHINGTON – A White House spokesperson has confirmed that US president-elect, Donald Trump would definitely consider visiting Pakistan if he plans any foreign trip after being in Oval office.

‘When President Trump begins planning his overseas travel, he’ll have a range of places to consider, and Pakistan would certainly be one of them’ House spokesperson Josh Earnest confirmed.

The announcement came just a day after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made a telephone call to Trump in which the latter termed Pakistan, a terrific country.

Earnest also expressed that US president Barack Obama also expressed his desire to visit Pakistan but the plan could not be executed owing to complications between the two long-standing allies.

“At one point in his presidency, I do recall President Obama expressing a desire to travel to Pakistan. For a variety of reasons, some of them relating to the complicated relationship between our two countries at certain times over the last eight years, President Obama was not able to realise that ambition,” Earnest said.

The White House official kept mum about the tone and accuracy of the telephonic conversation between Nawaz Sharif and Donald Trump that baffled the international media.

“I’d refer you to the President-elect’s team for more of a description of what the President-elect may have communicated to the Prime Minister of Pakistan,” he told the newsmen adding that relationship between the two countries has been turbulent after the killing of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan.
