BALASORE – India on Friday successfully launched a nuclear-capable missile, Prithvi-II, from a base in Odisha, Indian media reported.
The surface-to-surface missile with a range of 350 km, was fired from a mobile launcher from launch complex-3 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, official sources said.
They said that the test remained successful as all objectives were achieved in the mission.
The missile can carry 500 kg to 1,000 kg of warheads and is driven by liquid propulsion twin engines. It uses the latest guidance system with manoeuvring trajectory to hit its target with accuracy.
“The missile trajectory was tracked by the DRDO radars, electro-optical tracking systems and telemetry stations located along the coast of Odisha,” News18 quoted sources.
