Layyah Toxic Sweets Deaths: CM Shahbaz meets grieving families

LAYYAH (Staff Report) – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Monday visited Layyah to offer his condolences with the families of those who died by eating toxic sweets last week.

On the occasion, he spent some time with the grieved families, offered fateha and prayed for the departed souls. He also conveyed condolence message of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to them.

Talking to the members of grieved families, Shahbaz Sharif said that on the completion of investigative reports, stern action will be taken on founding any negligence of doctors or administration.

He said that one member of the each deceased families will be given government job. He said that he will again visit Layyah soon for the satisfaction of the deceased families.

As many as 29 people, including women and children, had died in Layyah after consuming toxic sweets while celebrating the birth of a baby boy. The father of the new born baby was also among dead.
