LONDON – The London chapter of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Sunday suspended the primary party membership of MQM–Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar.
A joint statement issued by MQM–London leaders Mustafa Azizabadi, Wasay Jalil, Qasim Ali Raza and Muhammad Ashfaq said Farooq Sattar was expelled from MQM following his repeated statements against the party founder and party policy.
The leaders said that London–based leader Nadeem Nusrat was MQM’s only convener and that no one other than him, including Farooq Sattar, had any right to represent the party.
“Farooq Sattar has no authority to dictate his administrative and political decisions as he is not party’s parliamentary leader anymore” the statement added.
MQM–London further urged the party’s lawmakers to immediately tender their resignations from the national and provincial assemblies and the senate.
The leaders also demanded the party’s workers to socially boycott those MNAs and MPAs who have dissociated themselves from party’s founder. No one should believe in the statements issued by anyone other than Nadeem Nusrat, they said.
The statement came just a day after MQM London’s Rabita Committee convener Nadeem Nusrat warned the party leaders who had disowned MQM founder to submit their apologies.
“As the official convener of MQM-London I appeal to all the leaders, parliamentarians, officials and members for the last time that they should rectify themselves and join the ranks the ranks of MQM founder,” said Nadeem Nusrat.
The MQM leader told that all those who were afraid due to threats and oppression should not dissociate themselves from the movement that included the sacrifices of twenty thousand martyrs from Muhajir community.
