Much has been written on the historical significance of Lahore Resolution. The resolution is largely described as a turning point for Muslim politics in united India. A point where aspirations for a separate Muslim homeland – Pakistan – was finally declared to be the ultimate destiny and outcome of League’s politics. However, there are still flaws in this reductionist approach which I will address in the second part of this article.
The purpose of writing this piece is to refute the idea that Lahore Resolution – and therefore whole Pakistan Movement – was the outcome of British conspiracy. Senior journalist and editor in chief Daily Pakistan, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami has already penned down two eye-opening pieces on the debate. There is literally no need to expound on the matter further.
