ISLAMABAD – The National Highway Authority (NHA) has withdrawn the notification regarding an increase in toll tax.
On the prime minister’s directives, the quarterly hike in toll plaza fees has been suspended. Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan ordered the NHA to withdraw the notification.
He stated that in the current situation, no additional burden can be placed on citizens.
The federal minister announced the suspension of the toll tax increase that was set to take effect from April 5 and issued a new notification.
Abdul Aleem Khan added that people are already facing difficulties due to rising petrol and diesel prices, and on the prime minister’s instructions, every possible step will be taken to ease public hardship. He said that although the situation is challenging, the nation can overcome it together.
On the minister’s directive, the NHA’s notification issued on April 1 has been suspended.
The NHA has not made any increase in toll plaza fees for the fiscal year 2025–26.
