At least six killed in terror attack on London Bridge

LONDON – At least six people were killed when three assailants rammed a van into people on London Bridge and stabbed them randomly on Saturday night.

Witnesses have said that armed officers are understood to be at the scene after a white van hit pedestrians, according to BBC.

According to The Sun, eyewitnesses have confirmed that several people are lying on the ground and are receiving CPR after being stabbed.

There are have also been reports of gun shots being fired.

BBC reporter Holly Jones, who was on the bridge at the time of the incident, said the van was driven by a man and was “probably travelling at about 50 miles an hour”.

“He swerved right round me and then hit about five or six people. He hit about two people in front of me and then three behind,” Ms Jones told the BBC News Channel.

In horrifying footage taken from the scene, police can be heard shouting “clear the area, now” while screaming people can be seen running in fear for their lives. One terrified woman said she was at a restaurant and police swarmed on the area.

She said police were shooting. “We had to run,” “There was loads of shooting.”

Transport for London said the bridge has been closed in both directions due to a “major police incident”.
