MUMBAI – While earlier reports suggested that Vidya Balan had been offered to play Sridevi’s cameo role in N. T. Rama Rao biopic by Nandamuri Balakrishna, now it is being suggested that Deepika Padukone is being approached for the same role.
“The makers are approaching Deepika Padukone for Sridevi’s cameo role. NTR and Sridevi’s combination was a big hit and they had many popular songs. It’s a short role and they feel that Deepika is perfect for it,” the source states.
Sridevi (late) had worked with NT Rama Rao (late) in many films, including as a child artiste in Badipantulu playing Rama’s granddaughter and later on as his his love interest in blockbusters like Vetagadu, Kondaveeti Simham and Bobbili Puli.
The biopic will display different periods of NTR’s life, his childhood, rise to fame and entry in politics.
Besides this, there are two more biopics underway on Rama’s life. One is by Ram Gopal Verma on NTR’s life as seen through the eyes of his second wife. And according to sources producer Kethi Reddy Jagdeswara Reddy is too interested in creating a film on NTR.
