KARACHI (Staff Report) – Police on Thursday arrested a woman for allegedly torching her husband to death.
As per details, Darakshan, the accused, had a dispute with her husband, Sohail Ali a resident of Sagheer Centre in F B Area, and shifted to her parents house along with her four children.
On Wednesday evening, Darakshan with the aid of her father, brother and another relative allegedly torched Sohail to death when he came to his in-laws house for a patch-up with his wife.
According to the deceased’s mother, her son was torched by his in-laws as there were differences between the couple.
On the other hand, the suspects claimed that Sohail brought kerosene oil and matches and set himself on fire, after sustaining critical burn injuries had told them to take him to Aga Khan University Hospital for treatment as he worked there as technician. However, within two hours, he died of his injuries during treatment.
Police said Sohail was not in a position to give a statement when he got admitted to the hospital.
Police have registered a First Information Report 105/2016 on complaint of the Mrs Safia under sections 324 (Attempt to commit qatl-i-amd) and 34 (common intention) of Pakistan Penal Code against the deceased’s wife and his in-laws.
