Hamza Ali Abbasi approves of Karan Johar's apology

LAHORE - In a recent interview, Bollywood's film-maker Karan Johar openly apologized for the 'item songs' (Chikni Chameli, Mera Naam Mary Hai, Shut Up and Bounce), that put the woman as a center of attention in the wrong light.

Karan Johar said, "The moment you put a woman in the center and a thousand men looking at her lustingly, it’s setting the wrong example. As a film maker I have made those mistakes and I will never do it again."

Hamza Ali Abbas, known for his controversial opinions and recent opinion stemming from disapproval of item songs, supported Karan Johar's statement while also calling out on the 'desi MODERNATIES'.

Hamza tweeted, "When i spoke against ITEM NUMBERS our desi MODERNATIES lashed at me calling me a wannabe Mullah… Now i hope at least this guys views will help explaining why it’s not ok to use a woman’s sexual appeal to sell films. Hope we can focus on art & reject shameful trends like item nos."

Hamza had earlier taken to his social media; raising his voice against item nos. He had supposedly dropped out of 'Jawani Phir Nahi Aani' sequel for the very same reason.
