GOLD COAST, Australia – Pakistan, and Wales played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in Group B match at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast on Thursday.
It was goalless at the halftime. Both the goals were scored in the third quarter. Wales took the lead when their forward Rupert Shipperly struck. The Green-shirts leveled the scores when Mubashar Ali converted through the plenty corner.
Wales are ranked 23rd in the World, while Pakistan are in the 13th position. Interestingly, Pakistan’s current head coach Roelant Oltmans was the man behind the improvement in Indian hockey when he was coach and director of the Indian team in 2015.
It is expected that Pakistan could pull off a win due to his knowledge of the Indians weaknesses and strengths. India are ranked sixth in the world.
