Trade halted at Torkham border after scuffle between Pakistan, Afghan troops

KHYBER – Trade activities were halted at the Torkham border crossing between Pakistan and India after soldiers of both sides engaged in a scuffle, it has emerged on Saturday.

Reports said an FC official, who was injured in the incident, has been shifted to a hospital for treatment. The brawl erupted after a dispute between the both sides over movement of labourers.

In February 2023, an FC soldier was injured after Afghan border forces resorted to unprovoked firing at the Torkham crossing between the neighbouring countries.

The  forces of Afghanistan where Taliban are in the power had targeted a checkpost of the paramilitary force. Pakistani soldiers responded in a befitting manner.
