Crickter Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Amin hurt in Karachi hotel fire

KARACHI – Pakistan middle order batsmen Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Amin were wounded during the stampede triggered in the wake of overnight blaze at the city’s Regent Plaza Hotel on Monday, local media reported

All-rounder Yassim Murtaza suffered ankle break as he jumped from the balcony to save his life, while leg-spinner Karamat Ali received injuries to his hand from a broken glass.

UBL head coach Nadeem Khan later confirmed that two players, right-arm fast-bowlers Adil Raza and Sadaf Mehdi are currently getting treatment for suffocation related problems at Ziauddin Hospital in Clifton.

Sohaib Maqsood, who is a part of the UBL’s team, revealed the horrific experience he faced in the middle of the night.

It should be mentioned here that the cricketers are part of UBL team. They were staying at hotel to take part in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

The UBL team will not play its match scheduled for today.

Meantime, Under-19 player Yaseen got a fracture in his leg after he jumped from the floor to save his life.

According to local police and doctors, at least 11 people were killed and 75 others were injured.-Online
