ISLMABAD – The two time Grammy award winning record producer brought his diplo-matic skills to Pakistan’s capital on weekend Mad Decent Block Party; a one of its kind event that sent waves across the whole country.
Headlining a number of musicians, including his electronic music trio Major Lazer, Diplo funked up the beat to a crowd of more than 2500 people in Lake View Park, Islamabad.
Among the event were other musicians like Doors, Mickey Murshid, Zoh, Haider Mustehsan, Osama Com Laude, Valentino Khan, Lyari Underground, SKNM, and Chrome Sparks.
“There’s a lot of bridges being built between here and the US”, said SNKM’s Adil Omar, (with having a successful hip hip hop career) he has a new album and film “Transcendence” to be releasing this year.
Diplo had said in a statement to TMZ after US President Donald Trump’s comments about Pakistan being a ‘terrorist’ haven, “I think the best way we can do any kind of diplomacy with the Pakistani people is … basically reaching out to the kids like we do at the concerts.”
All the proceeds of Diplo’s concert will go to NGO sahil.org (working for child protection Pakistan for the past 12 years). The announcement was made after Zainab’s rape and murder case became highlighted in the media.
