LES CAYES (Web Desk) – The death toll raised to one hundred and forty in Hurricane Matthew and Tropical Storm Nicole in Haiti on Thursday.
Haiti’s Civil Protection Agency said that authorities and aid workers are still trying to reach remote areas of the peninsula to get a full accounting of the damage.
According to local official, some 136 people were killed in Haiti and thousands were displaced after the storm flattened homes, uprooted trees and inundated neighborhoods earlier in the week.
Hurricane Matthew headed for Florida after killing at least 140 people in the Caribbean, mostly in Haiti.
