Hezbollah has launched a retaliatory rocket attack against Israeli military positions following an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon that resulted in the deaths of three medical staff members.

According to international news sources, Hezbollah’s response involved firing multiple rockets at the Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona and surrounding military installations. The group’s statement indicated that the rockets were launched in retaliation for the killing of the paramedics.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that they had successfully intercepted most of the Hezbollah rockets before they could cause significant damage, though a few did land in the vicinity. Sirens were activated, and emergency measures were put into place, with instructions for residents to remain indoors.

This escalation follows an earlier Israeli airstrike targeting a Lebanese civil defense team engaged in firefighting efforts. The strike resulted in the death of three paramedics and injuries to two others, one of whom remains in critical condition while the other two are reportedly stable. The Israeli military’s targeting of medical personnel is not an isolated incident and has previously drawn international condemnation.

Hezbollah’s ally, the Amal Movement, confirmed that two of the slain paramedics were affiliated with their organization. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in a cycle of retaliation, exacerbating the ongoing conflict in the region.
