Pcb Trashes Reports Of Champions Trophy 2025 Final Relocation To Uae

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) turned down reports of a UK publication claiming the final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 could be moved to UAE if India qualifies.

As the report made headlines, PCB categorically rejected the speculation and expressed hope to conduct all matches of the tournament within Pakistan. A spokesperson for PCB said there are no plans to relocate the Champions Trophy final from Pakistan.

He mentioned that the board is working to ensure that all preparations for the tournament are on track, and we are confident that Pakistan will be able to host a memorable event.

Stadiums across Pakistan are being prepared to accommodate an expected influx of fans and international players. These improvements are part of a broader effort to enhance Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure and promote the country as a top cricketing destination.

Champions Trophy 2025 is slated to be held from February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day on March 10. Pakistan is in Group A alongside cricketing powerhouses India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B includes England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.

The development comes as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reluctant to send players to Pakistan amid political tensions.

As per the proposed schedule, all games will be played in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Punjab capital will host seven games, including the grand final, while Karachi’s National Stadium will stage the opening match and one semi-final. Rawalpindi is set to host five matches, including the other semi-final.

The semi-finals are scheduled for March 5 and 6 in Karachi and Rawalpindi, respectively, leading up to the final in Lahore on March 9.
