Gomal University VC Dr. Shakibullah escapes unscathed in D.I Khan shooting

PESHAWAR – Vice-Chancellor of Gomal University Professor Dr. Shakibullah was targeted in an attack in Dera Ismail Khan.

Luckily, Dr Shakibullah and his team were unharmed. The gunfire occurred when the head of key Dera Ismail public varsity was leaving Agriculture University in his hometown. The car sustained extensive damage, but no one inside was injured.

Senior KP police officials and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi called for an investigation into the matter. He also expressed regret over the incident and relief that Dr. Shakibullah and his staff were not hurt.

The country’s northwestern region saw hundreds of militant attacks as attacks increased slightly from January. Pakistan’s province neighboring Afghanisgtan saw significant rise in violence, mainly targeting politicians, security forces and notables.
