Two employees of Turkish firm Albayrak gunned down in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI – Unknown gunmen on Saturday killed two employees of Turkish waste management firm, Albayrak, and injured one in Rawalpindi.

Two men drove by on a motorcycle, opened firing on the employees when they were cleaning the streets near Nishtar Market, within the jurisdiction of the Sadiqabad police station, the Dawn News reported

The deceased sweepers have been identified as Asif and Saqib, whereas driver Shakeel Irshad was injured in the attack, which is being suspected to be a target killing.

The killed employees received several bullets, while their bodies have been shifted to hospital for post-mortem.

Earlier in August, an employee of Albayrak had died after being shot near Data Ganj Baksh Road in Rawalpindi.

During the attack, Karamat, 40, died on the spot from a gunshot wound to his neck, while Sagheer, 38, was injured.

In June this year, another Albayrak employee Aashir Asif was murdered by unknown men in the same area. All of the employees that were shot belonged to the Christian community.
