One dead as fire breaks out in Karachi’s Shah Faisal Colony

KARACHI – One person died, and 10 motorcycles were damaged after a fire broke out in a residential building in Shah Faisal Colony on Wednesday.

According to fire brigade and rescue sources, the fire erupted at an illegal petrol pump and a tire shop in Shah Faisal Colony No. 3, spreading to the residential building above.

The body of the deceased has been recovered, and several shops were also affected by the blaze.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the fire in the residential building in Shah Faisal Colony and instructed to expedite the rescue operations. He directed the Karachi Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner of Malir to immediately reach the scene and oversee the relief efforts.

The chief minister emphasized the importance of protecting lives and ensuring the safe evacuation of residents, instructing authorities to keep him updated on the situation.

He noted that the fire was reportedly caused by an illegal petrol pump and called for legal action against those selling illegal petrol.

Additionally, he ordered a crackdown on all such illegal petrol businesses, stating that no one has the right to endanger human lives.
