Sindh notifies public holiday on September 17

KARACHI – The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on September 17 on account of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), which is celebrated on 12 Rabiul Awal.

The provincial government has issued a notification, stating that all educational institution and offices will remain closed on Sept 17 (Tuesday) across the province.

The federal and Punjab governments have already notified the public holiday on account of 12 Rabiul Awal.

The 12th Rabi ul Awwal, also known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi, holds immense significance in the Islamic calendar. It is a day of deep reflection and celebration, as it marks the birth of the Prophet (PBUH), whose life and teachings continue to inspire billions of people worldwide.

In Pakistan, the day is traditionally observed with great reverence through processions, special prayers, and religious gatherings. In cities and towns throughout Pakistan, preparations for the occasion are already underway. Homes, streets, and buildings are being adorned with lights and banners, while various religious organizations are planning events to celebrate the day.
