LAHORE – A bride has been arrested on suspicion of orchestrating a gun attack on her husband on their wedding day, police said on Monday.
Irfan, 25, a resident of Gulshan Ravi, was on his way back home from his wedding venue near Shafiqabad when two men riding on a motorcycle opened fire at his car in the populous area of Lahore, critically injuring the groom.
As there was no patrolling units around, the armed attackers fled without any hassle.
The injured man was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
The father of the groom filed an FIR against the bride, who is yet to be named, and her relatives with Shafiqabad Police, alleging that the woman is behind the attack.
The police, after registering a case, arrested the bride. Further investigation was underway.
