MUMBAI – Former Indian captain and batting great Sachin Tendulkar wants to see some good cricket between England and Pakistan in the first Investec Test at Lord’s and thinks Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Muhammad Amir can do something special against the hosts.
In an interview with ESPN CricInfo, he said: “I think those that decided to penalise him, have already done so, he has served his sentence, and now he is able to pay.”
“He is a good bowler, has a huge amount of skill, and if he gets his rhythm right he can hopefully do something special,” he was quoted as saying.
Tendulkar said he had seen a couple of interviews of Muhammad Amir, including the one with Michal Atherton and had noted that whatever he spoke he had come across as a balanced man with a balanced head.
“That is something, which will also reflect in the game. Its all about how you think, you plan and you execute those plans on the field,” the former Indian batting great added.
It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that Pakistan is set to face off England in the first Test game of the tour on Thursday at the Lord’s stadium. The two teams will also play T20 and ODI series, after the Test series.
