Hajj, Umra pilgrims alerted against illegal tour operators

ISLAMABAD (APP) – The Government advised the people intending to perform Hajj and Umra to must travel through authorized registered tour operators and obtain an authentic copy of the package of facilities.

Assistant Controller, Department of Tourist Services, Wazir Ahmad Bosan talking to APP here on Sunday, said that all desirous pilgrims other than government schemes must ensure that tour operator was properly registered and authorised license holder from the competent authority, otherwise do not take risk.

He said that the people have further been advised to make payment only through a cross cheque to tour operators instead of cash and must get a signed receipt of the payment along with a copy of details of the package.

The government has decided to take strict action against registered Hajj and Umra tour operators if they violate the terms and conditions of the package offered to the people.

“Every facility that has been charged for should be delivered by the tour operator, and if not,action will be taken against them, and the money will be recovered and returned to the aggrieved persons besides action.” Bosan added.

The complaint if any must contain all necessary information with the correct name and complete address of the tour operator, so that timely action could be initiated.
