Mahira tweeted: “May the power of the voices of the people be stronger than a few in positions of power. #verna“
“The topic is rape, and the culprit is the governor’s son. The film doesn’t have to be banned, and can be tweaked and censored a bit to be deemed fit for release,” said general secretary Abdul Razzaq Khuhawar of Sindh Board of Film Censors (SBFC) on Tuesday.
Recently, Minister for Information and Culture Heritage, Information Minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that impression of the ban on the film is absolutely wrong: “No movie yet has been censored by the politicians. Verna will be permitted to release after completion of all necessary documentation.”
