Giant 6,500-egg omelette made at annual Belgium festival amid insecticide scandal

MALMEDY – A giant omelette was made in the Belgian town of Malmedy at an annual festival on Tuesday. More than 6,500 eggs were used to cook it despite the international health scare over eggs contaminated with the insecticide Fipronil, which is harmful to humans.

The scandal saw millions of eggs removed from shelves in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and other EU countries.
