High-Street Fashion Shows
MBM
MBM made their PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week debut with their High-Street collection titled “Chromodope – Rango Ka Nasha”. For this collection, colour palette played a major role with strong and vibrant fluorescent and neon colors. Champagne Crystals and Swarovski were added to the necklines and cuffs to add glamour to the collection. Translucent and flowy fabric was used in the collection and aesthetically incorporated with printed silk and cotton designed specifically for this collection. With trendy cuts and silhouettes, the collection comprised of over flown capes, jackets, skirts and culottes with pleated voluminous skirts supported with t-shirts to give it an edgy look with experimental lowers with chic tops including jogger pants, pleated pants and wrap around pants.
HSY Limited
The HSY Limited collection in collaboration with the Kashf Foundation followed on the 4th day of #PSFW16. Indeed this collection was borne out of HSY’s commitment to empower more women and lesser privileged communities in Pakistan as part of his mantra, Giving is the new Achieving – an initiative that he first launched in 2014 with his Sher collection. The collection payed homage to the rural working women in Pakistan and is a representation of the Kashf Foundation’s 20 year journey. Inspired by strong, independent women from all walks of life, the HSY Limited for Kashf Foundation collection combines a variety of functional yet chic outfits, in neutral, earthy tones. With shorter hemlines and fuller pants with focus given to unique textures and detailed craftsmanship; in mercerized cotton, chiffon, organza and silk, the collection was made up of wearable, easily layered separates that can be styled in different ways so as to let your personality shine through. Though the collection lays such a strong focus on traditional craftsmanship, the end result was truly practical and contemporary.
Shirin Hassan
Shirin Hassan’s PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016 collection is titled ‘Aurora’. Inspired by a bohemian lifestyle, it is a modern, on-trend collection with summer hues and bold motifs. The collection focused on contemporary elegance with a unique assortment of embellishments, which entails intricate hand crafted add-ons, bold motifs, striking full skirts with emphasis on stitching with a blend of contemporary and ethnic. With a bright color palette with different cuts, the collection also comprised of blockprints and solid color ensembles such as eye-popping parrot green, gold, white, hot pink and the usual dose of striking black makes up the flamboyant range.
Sobia Nazir
Sobia Nazir showcased her High-Street collection “SN MAX” at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016. The inspiration behind the collection is taken from the concept of minimalism; the idea of less is more and clean lines using flowers as adornments from soft, watercolour petals to full-on flower power. “SN MAX” incorporated minimal silhouettes with a blend of geometric, floral, and artsy prints on materials such as cottons, leatherettes, organza, nets and silks. The colour palette for this collection integrated softer hues ranging from Rose Quartz, Peach Echo, Serenity, Snorkel, Blue, Buttercup, Lavender, Limpet Shell, and Fiesta to Iced Coffee and Green Flash with an accent of Chrome Gold that offers a sense of calm and relaxation. The geometric mashup, fractal flora and white-out prints were adorned using sequins, pearls, apliques, embroideries and studs/eyelets with a mix of 3D elements.
