Four terrorists involved in Mall Road blast arrested

LAHORE – In the latest development, on Thursday, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested four terrorists involved in the terrorist attack on Mall Road Lahore that killed 15 people including DIG traffic police.

The terrorists named Irfan Khan, Atta ur Rehaman, Abdullah and Imam Shah were arrested from Circular Road, Lahore after identification by a facilitator of Mall Road attack, Anwar ul Haq.

Anwar ul Haq was arrested by the forces a few days after the blast from Landa Bazar, Lahore following video footage captured by CCTV cameras installed on the road.

The officials also recovered explosives from their possession. The captured terrorists hailed from Mohmand Agency and Bajur and had provided assistance to Anwar and the suicide bomber for carrying out the attack.

At least 15 people including senior police officers have been killed while 85 others were injured after the explosion.

The bomb blast occurred at Chairing Cross, Mall Road, Lahore, killing DIG Traffic Capt (r) Ahmad Mubeen, SSP Mahmood Gondal and DSP Pervez Butt, police sources told Daily Pakistan.
