Pakistan announces Rs1.6 billion Ramazan Package for utility stores

ISLAMABAD – The Economic Coordination Committee has approved special package of 1.6 billion rupees for utility stores for the holy month of Ramazan.

The approval came during a committee meeting headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Under the approved package nineteen food items will be available at utility stores at subsidised rates. The food items include rice, tea, sugar, pulses, flour, milk and cold drinks.

The meeting also approved an extension in date for the import of urea fertilizer from April 28th to October 31st.

The import quota of urea has also been increased from three hundred thousand to six hundred thousand metric tons.
