RAWALPINDI — The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) has imposed a ban on entry of heavy vehicles and buses in Murree to ensure the safety of the passengers and facilitate tourists.
Special instructions have been issued to traffic wardens by Traffic Police Rawalpindi while tourists have also been advised to avoid coming on motorcycles, heavy vehicles and buses.
A CTP spokesman said that the tourists had been asked to keep moderate air pressure in tyres of their vehicles and batteries should be fully charged.
The step had been taken to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the tourists and only expert drivers are advised to visit Murree during snowy seasons while the visitors should avoid wrong and double parking, he added.
The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Muhammad Bin Yousaf had urged the tourists to avoid making selfies while parking vehicles in the middle of the road.
The tourists have been asked to bring vehicles being run on petrol as fuel and advised to strictly obey traffic rules during snowfall or bad weather condition.
The large number of vehicles illegally parked on either side of the narrow roads further reduce the space available for vehicles to move forward.
Moreover, he said, under a comprehensive traffic plan devised for Murree for the winter season, wardens, inspectors and deputy superintendents of traffic police had been deployed to manage the flow of traffic in the most attractive resort which attracts thousands of tourists in both the seasons, summer and winter. A control room had been set up for the area, he informed.
