In a recent interview with Dawn, Quratulain Balouch shared that she doesn’t like being called by these initials because “Qandeel Baloch was also referred to as QB.”
While speaking to the journalist Madeeha Syed, Quratulain shared that she doesn’t feel comfortable with people referring to her with those initials. She started feeling this way after Qandeel was subjected to online backlash and was eventually murdered by her brother in the name of ‘honour’. “They were constantly taunting and making, like, certain jokes that I just couldn’t stand,” she told the interviewer.
The Humsafar singer found the incident very disturbing and asked people to start calling her by her first name instead of calling her QB. Quratulain feels strongly about Qandeel and thinks that she “was a reflection of the society.”
Balouch also shared that she isn’t ready to be an idol. In her own words, “But being famous puts a lot of pressure and responsibilities on you. And I’m still not willing to take that responsibility. I don’t want to be an idol. I don’t want to be an ‘inspiration.’ I actually don’t. I’m a mere human being. I’m also learning.”
Quratulain wowed the nation with her powerful and compelling voice. She is best known for the OST of drama serial Humsafar.
