First Lady of Turkey visits Faisal Mosque

ISLAMABAD – Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdogan visited Faisal Mosque on Thursday.

The first lady was received by Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority at Faisal Mosque.

On this occasion senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA were also present on this occasion.

She was told that the design of the mosque was prepared by a Turkish Architect and constructed with the collaboration of Saudi Arabia.

Mrs. Erdogan visited different portions of the mosque and took keen interest in Quranic verses written in different hand writings.

The Islamabad mayor of and CDA chairman, Sheikh Anser Aziz, said that Turkey and Pakistan are not only two brother Islamic countries but are also tied in a relation of strong friendship and supported each other in the hour of need.

Turkish First lady said that Faisal Mosque is not only a master piece of construction but is symbol of great Islamic traditions. She also appreciated the calligraphy of Sadiqain and painting of renowned artist Gull Gee.

She was also presented a book on Islamabad and commemorative shield on her visit.–Agencies
