NEW DELHI – Bollywood’s Farhan Akhtar is known to raise his voice over social issues, and has been observed to hold very strong opinions over it. One of these issues relating to gender hold high importance in his life.
Talking about sexual harassment and assault cases, Farhan has urged the people to speak up against the issue and raise their voice over the wrongs being done in the society.
Farhan said, “I’ve heard of people talking about issues with the casting couch. But I don’t know anybody personally to whom it has happened that I can encourage to speak up. Or the other thing, it hasn’t happened to me, but, whoever has something to share of this magnitude. If they’ve been taken advantage of or exploited, it is up to them to decide whether they want to speak up or not. I can’t force anybody. But at the end of the day, if they feel it’s time, then they should without any fear.”
