BUREWALA (Web Desk) – At least five persons were killed while 47 sustained injuries as a speedy bus overturned on Lydon road near Burewala in Wednesday’s wee hours.
Rescue teams reached the spot immediately and shifted the injured and bodies to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital Burewala whereas all the medical staff was sought after declaring emergency in the hospital, local media reported.
As per rescue sources, the bus, carrying pilgrims from Manga Mandi, overturned near Dewan Sahib as the driver tried to take a sharp turn while speeding.
The accident took place after the driver could not control the bus while moving at full throttle over a road turn, police said.
The ill-fated bus was en route to shrine of Sakhi Sarwar from Chhanga Manga.
According to hospital sources, the casualties belong to a single family.
