Afghanistan: Al-Qaeda commander among five killed in US drone strike

KABUL (News Desk) – A local commander of the al-Qaeda has been killed along with four other militants in a US drone attack in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province.

According to Afghan Ministry of Defence (MoD), the targeted commander was identified as Mullah Mohammad Ali. He was involved in different terrorist attacks and atrocities committed against citizens of the country.

The airstrike targeting the al-Qaeda comes amid concerns that the terrorist network is trying to combine its operations with other militant groups, including the Taliban, to expand its foothold in the country.
