The Panama Papers were an unprecedented leak of 11.5m files from the database of the world’s fourth-biggest offshore law firm, Mossack Fonseca. As if it wasn’t already enough that the Panama papers exposed a huge global problem with the whole world having a heated debate close to its verdict date, we were further surprised to see how well-versed the biggest names of Pakistan’s entertainment space were of the country’s political milieu against a vastly different environment at the LSA 2017 last night.
When first asked what he thought of the Panama Leaks ruling scheduled for 2pm today, Ali Zafar believed that the decision should be in favour of the Pakistani people and their “growing, progressive Pakistan.. for children and everyone.”
Faisal Qureshi joked,”I hope we’re not celebrating April Fool’s Day on April 20.”
Noman Ijaz furthered the matter in a rather serious context, ““Our country has been the subject of many an evil eye,” adding that measures are needed to counter that.
Sheheryar Munawar believed that accountability was very crucial. “I consider myself to be a common man. We pay taxes and that money should be spent well,” the 28-year-old exclaimed, hinting, we presume, at some ‘big, expensive apartments’ around the world.
“I’m a very positive person. I like that space,” Atif Aslam told Geo News.
Other artists like Sanam Saeed, Syra Shahroz and Meera ji for obvious reasons had very serious undertones.
