Rohail Hyatt steps down as Coke Studio producer

Celebrated musician Rohail Hyatt has stepped down as Coke Studio producer for the upcoming season.

Known to be a bit of a recluse, the music maestro spends most of his life disconnected from the world but as of late he has been quite active on Twitter.

A piece of sad news for the fans is that the producer responsible for curating six seasons of Coke Studio has officially announced that he won’t be planning the next season.

During a Twitter spree interaction, a fan asked the founding member of Pakistan’s first pop band Vital Signs if he became active on social media after taking a break from CS. “@rohailhyatt Good and pleasure to see you active and much interactive on SM. Hope this doesn’t foreshadow that CS is not planned for this year.”

Hyatt swiftly replied by saying, “I’m sure CS is being planned but not by me.. SM is a great place to figure out if one is neutral or biased in any way. I’m using it as a tool to measure my own imbalances. Seems to be working well for me.”

Moreover this year, Coke Studio will also be releasing a Pakistan Day special that is being produced by Ali Hamza. While Hyatt has never produced extended tracks like the associated anthems or anniversary specials, so it will be an inaccurate parallel to assume that Hamza will be taking charge of CS from now on.

Strings took the reigns from season six till 10 and Ali Hamza along with Zohaib Kazi co-produced season 11.

Earlier, Xulfi has produced Hum Aik Hain under the banner of CS and was also roped in to do Coke Studio Explorer.
